Keene Kiwanis and a crazy idea
A few members of the Kiwanis Club of Keene, New Hampshire decide to use technology to streamline club activities — reporting, member tracking, and event management. The tools they build help club leaders and members excel in their community efforts.

Club Resource is founded
Recognizing a broader need for specialized club management tools, Scott and Lynn Smith found Club Resource — simplifying reporting, event planning, communication, and member coordination for clubs.

Club Resource becomes Portalbuzz
The platform is rebranded and launched as Portalbuzz, offering a comprehensive suite of features that becomes a trusted solution for clubs, organizations, and groups worldwide.

Leading technology at Kiwanis International
Scott serves at Kiwanis International as Chief Technology Officer and leads an innovation team, modernizing the technological capabilities of Kiwanis clubs globally.

Aplos acquires Portalbuzz
Scott joins Aplos as Product Vice President and part of the leadership team, deepening his understanding of the challenges clubs and nonprofits face.

Portalbuzz shuts down. MemberDay is born.
Aplos shuts down the beloved Portalbuzz platform, leaving thousands of club leaders looking for a home. In response, Scott and Lynn found MemberDay — built from the ground up on modern technology to carry the mission forward.
